Background:

Bildeston Primary School is a co-educational day school for children of four to 11 years of age. A village school has existed in Bildeston since the Victorian era and log books survive from 1887 onwards. The school's current building was opened in October 1968. Pupils are drawn from the parishes of Bildeston, Hitcham, Wattisham, Nedging and Naughton. Situated in a cul-de-sac, the school building is attractively laid out and there is also a sports field of generous size on the site. The school also has an adventure playground and hard play area. There are various lunchtime and after-school clubs available for children including choir, recorders, handbells and sports clubs, including football, netball and short tennis. The school'strives to provide the best possible start to a child's education.
