Background:
The school was opened in 1979 by the amalgamation of Mills Grammar School and Framlingham Modern School. Accommodation has been substantially enhanced over recent years with over £3 million spent on completing brand new English and mathematics teaching blocks, state of art library and resource area, performance studio, improved design technology facilities, three new art rooms and two new science laboratories. Information and communication technology is an important feature of the school and the computer to pupil ratio is currently 1:3. German and French are taught to all pupils in year seven to nine and are supported by well-established exchanges. Latin is offered as an option in year 8 to 10. Music is a great strength with over 140 pupils in the choir, orchestra and ensembles. Drama is very popular and the annual school production is exceptional. The school provides wide range of sporting activities for both boys and girls. The school aims to enhance student's personal development, which is significantly enhanced by an ethos that is supportive, yet based on high expectations.
