Background:

Kingsfleet Primary School was built in 1972. The school is set in spacious grounds, which include a conservation area, an ornamental garden, playing fields and a heated outdoor swimming pool. Other facilities include a library and computer suite. There is a wide range of activities, which take place out of school hours. These include chess, art, science, computers, table tennis, football, netball, choir and band. Most of the leisure activities are aimed at the older children, which ensures that everybody during their time at school can participate. There is also the opportunity to learn a variety of musical instruments with tuition. These lessons take place during school hours or over the lunch break. Its aim is to give children access to these activities and share in the enjoyment and challenge of competitive and cooperative sports. Children need to learn how to live and work together. Children are respected as individuals but through the school they need to learn that living together imposes responsibilities. There is an atmosphere of openness and friendliness combined with a sense of purpose.
