Background:
The school dates back to 1565 with ordinances based on the rules of Eton. The school facilities include 12 purpose-built science laboratories, six technology bases, two art rooms, English suites as well as modern languages, mathematics and humanities rooms. There is accommodation for music and drama, four specialist rooms for information technology and a further network in mathematics. Exceptional facilities for sport include four hectares of playing fields, seven hard tennis courts, an artificial wicket, specialist field and track areas, sports hall with fitness suite, weight room, sprung-floor gymnasium, sports pavilion and access to an adjacent swimming pool.
