Background:
Bacton Community Middle School caters for children aged 9-13 years. Its grounds are extensive and surrounded by farmland. The school building provides excellent specialist facilities for music, drama, art, science, ICT, technology and food technology. In addition it has a large gymnasium/assembly hall and well-resourced library. In addition to the normal curriculum the school offers many sporting, musical and other extra-curricular activities including athletics, football, basketball, cricket, dance, drama, gardening, ICT, orchestra and many more. Free instrumental music tuition is also available. Educational day visits include theatres, France, London and other local places of interest. In addition educational residential trips to North Norfolk, York and France are also arranged. School plays and musical events take place regularly. The school ethos is based on achievement, appreciation and enjoyment of learning. It aims to give children a deeper understanding of themselves, people and the world around them.
