Background:
Howard Middle School is a county comprehensive co-educational day school, which caters for children of nine to 13 age range. It was first opened in 1972, then, after a fire in 1984, it reopened in 1986. It is purpose-built and is proud of its excellent facilities. The facilities include spacious and attractive building, a well-stocked library, three design studios, sports barn, specialist rooms, extensive grounds and playing fields. The pupils benefit from full coverage of national curriculum subjects delivered by a range of subject specialists. There is an extensive range of clubs offered to the children which include basketball, homework, computer club, cricket, chess, art, soccer, wind group, singing group, netball and brass group. Outings or field trips are also organised to support learning. The school aims to create an atmosphere of mutual respect, personal responsibility and care for each other and the environment.
