Background:

Founded in 1873, the school's old Victorian buildings were extended and refurbished in 2000. The local community raised #40,000 towards the cost of the refurbishment in just one year. Additional land has recently been purchased, enabling the school to devise plans to develop the grounds over the next five years. The headteacher is the special educational needs (SEN) co-ordinator and attends regular meetings with the LEA's advisory team to ensure that children are being provided with appropriate support.
